Melting Pot, UTEE, Video and Giveaway!

Wow its August, this year really has flown by! Time for a new feature item at Scrapbooker's Paradise and this time it is UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel).

Between August 1st and August 15th, you can pick up the coloured versions of UTEE for $6.75, regular price is $7.99.
If you are ordering online, please quote FIUT in the comments section of your order.

I chose the white UTEE to play with and I saw all the cool things on the Ranger website that you can do with UTEE and a lot of them were using the Melting Pot so I borrowed one and played around with it last night. Its so much fun, I have just added it to my wish list!

I bought the Mold N Pour kit which allows you to make your own molds. So you can make a mold say of a flower and then create all the resin type flowers you want.

I have a lot of the Movers and Shapers by Sizzix and Tim Holtz and love them and as my UTEE is white I decided to make a snowflake mold.

Here is a video

To create the tag:
I inked up the whole tag with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and Broken China. Distress Inks allow you to emboss, so i quickly poured a mixture of white and clear UTEE onto the tag and heat embossed it.
I continued this by adding more layers of coloured Embossing Powder/UTEE quickly. Be careful and do not throw the whole pot of UTEE onto the carpet like I did!
I continued adding versamark ink and embossing powders and UTEE's in white, silver, glitter etc until I had a background I liked.
I stamped the snowflakes and the believe stamp in Black Staz On. Be light on the stamp as this surface is very slick. If you make a mistake or smudge the ink, rub it off with staz on remover and start again.
I inked up another tag with the two blue Distress Inks and poured on a mixture or white and clear UTEE and heated it with a heat gun. I then cut out the 25 with a Movers and Shapers die by Tim Holtz/Sizzix.
I poured wet glue (Tombow) onto the bottom of the tag and dipped it in crushed silver glass by Stampendous.
I added my snowflake piece and applied jewels to the middle of the snowflakes.

My teammate Pam has shown lots of different ways to use UTEE so make sure you check out her blog HERE!

And then go to the Scrapbooker's Paradise Blog and leave a comment on todays post for a chance to win your own UTEE!

I'm confused as to how you made your mold from the Sizzix M&S .... do you just press it into the mold??? Doesn't it damage the M&S???

Hannah said... it does not hurt your die. I will try and create a video later showing you how to make the mould :)
