Happy Canada Day!!
Its July...which means time for a new feature item!
Between July 1st and 15th, Tim Holtz Distress Inks are on for the special price of $5.50 (regular price $6.50). If you are ordering online, please quote FIDI in the comments section of your order.
Here is my card
I started with a kraft piece of cardstock and stamped the wood grain stamp with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Distress Ink stays wet longer so you can emboss with it....however you have to be quick and with a large stamp like this I sometimes ink the stamp with Versamark ink first and then ink with the coloured ink.
I then took Brushed Couduroy Distress Ink and with an ink blending tool covered the whole image in. I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink to darken the edges.
With my craft sheet I rubbed on Forest Moss, Peeled Paint and Crushed Olive Distress Ink and spritzed with water. I then dabbed the tag into the ink and left to dry. I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink to darken the edges.
I inked the bird and branch stamp with Fired Brick and Walnut Stain Distress Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
I inked the flowers with Fired Brick, Peeled Paint and Walnut Stain Distress Stains and set aside to dry.
Originally I stamped the sentiment onto the green tag however I then left the tag on my craft sheet forgetting I had just inked the flowers and the tag got covered in red ink. They say there are no mistakes in Scrapbooking so I restamped onto cardstock which matched the base and stuck it on covering my "mistake"!!!
And then I pieced the card together.
Make sure you pop over to Pams blog to see what she made with Distress Inks and then go and leave a comment on Scrapbookers Paradise blog for a chance to win your own Distress Ink!
P.S Whats your favourite colour of Distress Ink??
